COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Officials have released the name of the man found dead in a car outside the Colony Apartments on Friday.

Police say the shooting happened at the complex on West Beltline in Columbia at about 6:30pm Friday.

The Richland County Coroner says 24-years-old Dominic D. Bethea was found dead in the driver's seat of a car which still had the engine running. He had been shot in the head.

The Columbia Police Department is considering this a homicide. Captain Thomas Dobson says, "We don't have anything right now. Our investigators are hard at work. We're collecting what evidence is available."

Captain Dobson says even if you think it's probably not important, anyone who saw anything that might be relevant is asked to call investigators.

A year ago this month a triple homicide happened in same apartment complex.
