Jury awards $65 million in wrongful death case involving NFL player's father

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The attorney for a shooting victim's family tells WIS News 10 they finally have closure. That comes after a jury awarded a $65 million judgment involving the father of an NFL football player.

Jurors took about four hours to come to a decision in the civil wrongful death case against Richard Seymour.

Investigators say in 2004, Seymour shot and killed Coretta Webber. They say Seymour then killed himself.

Richard Seymour's son plays in the NFL. He is All Pro Defensive Tackle for the New England Patriots.
