Preps underway for Lexington County Peach Festival

GILBERT, SC (WIS) - This year on July 4th in the Gilbert Community Park the Lexington County Peach Festival will be celebrating its 49th year.

Entertainment on July 4th starts at 9:00am and is free throughout the day with three stages in the Gilbert Community Park.

The parade along Main Street in Gilbert begins at 9:30am while arts and crafts booths will be set up on Rikard Circle next to the park.

Barbecue dinners and sandwiches, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, peach ice cream, peach tea, peach sundaes, peach slush, peach cobbler, lemonade, soft drinks and bottled water will be available for purchase.

A car show along with an antique tractor and farm machinery show will also be available as the Gilbert Community welcomes visitors to their hometown July 4th celebration.

Entertainment acts include Constance Flemming, St. James Gospel Singers, Mama's Home Cookin, Slydog, The Hendrix Family, The O'Kaysions, Deniese's School of Dance, Gilbert Studio of Dance Arts, #1 Dance Company, Breana Collier, Shag Time, Weekend, Magic, Joseph E. Greco, and The Hi-Cotton Singers.

Fireworks will light the sky at 10pm and a street dance on Rikard Circle with Mama's Home Cookin providing the street dance music will end the festivities at 10:30pm.

Parking is available off Main Street, in front of and across the street from Gilbert Primary School.
