SC State troopers injured in motorcycle accident

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Two troopers with the SC Highway Patrol were hurt Saturday night just before midnight when a motorcycle driver ran into them, authorities say.

Frederick Bradshaw and Gilmore Owens were taken to the hospital after their motorcycles collided with a third bike at Highway 17 and Pine Island Road in front of Coastal Grand mall.

Corporal Dowe Enzor with the Horry County Sheriff's Department says Bradshaw and Owens were stopped at a red light when 36-year-old Kerchia Calloway of Orangeburg attempted to change lanes, lost control of his motorcycle, and ran into the two troopers.

The troopers were transported to the hospital and released a couple of hours later. Calloway was citated for driving too fast for conditions.
