Cement slab traps Pennsylvania teen

(Butler County, Pennsylvania-NBC) March 20, 2007 - There were scary moments Tuesday for a Pennsylvania teen after he became trapped under a huge slab of cement.

Several rescuers in Butler County attempted to retrieve the 14-year-old boy. The teen was reportedly going after a lost ball when the six-foot-by-three-foot slab somehow slid on top of him.

Using airbags and special tow trucks, firefighters were able to lift the 3,800-pound slab and the boy was pulled out.

Paramedics gave him an IV of pain medication on scene and he was flown to nearby children's hospital. His current condition isn't known.

The cement slab that gave way was part of a temporary wall at a sewer construction project.
