Wife of kidnapped Fox cameraman makes tearful plea for release

(Gaza City, Gaza Strip-AP) August 18, 2006 - With no claims of responsibility four days after her husband was kidnapped in Gaza City, Anita McVaught has made a tearful plea for his release.

Fox News cameraman Olaf Wiig of New Zealand and American reporter Steve Centanni were taken from their vehicle by masked gunmen Monday. Palestinian security officials say it was an unusual kidnapping, since the captors haven't identified themselves or made any demands. And they say they're concerned because no other foreigners kidnapped in the past have been held this long.

McVaught pleaded for information during her televised appeal, her voice choked with emotion as she said "I want him home so much." She said Wiig and Centanni are good men who don't deserve this.

Palestinian officials say President Mahmoud Abbas met Thursday with top security officials to discuss the kidnapping.
