(Gaza City, Gaza Strip-AP) August 15, 2006 - Palestinian security forces are continuing the hunt for two Fox News journalists abducted in Gaza.
Investigators say the Palestinian president's office is closely following the probe into Monday's kidnapping. The American reporter, Steve Centanni, and a New Zealand cameraman were reportedly seized by masked gunmen near Palestinian security headquarters.
No one has claimed responsibility for the abduction.
The cameraman's wife has said she'd heard negotiations were under way for release of the missing men. But officials in Gaza said no contact had been made with the kidnappers.
US officials say they're keeping in touch with Palestinian officials and "working to ensure" release of the journalists. New Zealand's prime minister has also dispatched diplomats to Gaza. She says she's "very concerned" about the kidnapping.
