(Greenville-AP) June 3, 2006 - Upstate officials say Saturday that more than 100 calls came into a dedicated tip line for information about a man suspected of strangling a Clemson University student with a bikini top, but no arrests have been made.

The Pickens County Sheriff's Office has logged about 120 calls on the May 26 death of 20-year-old Tiffany Marie Souers of Ladue, Missouri, at her off-campus apartment. The calls came in less than 24 hours after the hot line was set up yesterday.

Prosecutor Bob Ariail says Saturday that investigators are encouraged by the number of calls they have received.

Police released surveillance photos Friday of a man trying to use Souers' bank card a few hours after the killing.

Prosecutor Bob Ariail says the man tried unsuccessfully to use Tiffany Marie Souers' card six times at two bank cash machines.

The man was driving an older sport utility vehicle - a two-door 1982 to 1994 Chevrolet or GMC - and had covered most of his face with bandanas.

Ariail says the crime was sexually motivated but says tests so far have not indicated Souers was sexually assaulted.

He says more tests were being done.

Ariail urged residents to be aware of any man exhibiting "any inappropriate or aggressive sexual advances."

There have been other developments in the case as well.

A Pendelton man, James Lindsey, found Tiffany Souers' license Friday morning. He was picking up cans on the northbound side of Highway 76 just north of the Tri-County Tech campus. That's between Anderson and Clemson.

SLED now has the license, they'll check it for fingerprints.

Pickens County inmate trustees are now combing the area to see if there's any other evidence along the highway.

Souers was a 20-year-old junior from Ladue, Missouri. She was found in her off-campus apartment just a few miles from the heart of the university.

She was wearing only a bra, the bikini top still around her neck when she was discovered May 26th.
