Fired radio show host back on the air

(Columbia, MO-AP) April 26, 2006 - A St. Louis talk-radio host who was fired after using a racial epithet on his show is back on the air, but he's in a market that's a lot smaller.

David Lenihan was fired by KTRS last month after using the word "coon" while talking about Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's credentials for the possible job of NFL commissioner.

Lenihan has apologized and said he misspoke while trying to say the word "coup."

He returned to the air Monday on KRMS in Osage Beach, Missouri, near Lake of the Ozarks. He's got a job for two weeks there, and the station owner says they've discussed a full-time job.

Rice says she's accepted Lenihan's apology.
