South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame inducts eight

(Columbia-AP) April 10, 2006 - The South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame will induct eight new members next month, including two former Major League Baseball players and four football players.

Among the class of 2006 are former All-Star pitchers Jimmy Key of Clemson and LaMarr Hoyt of Columbia. Also included are former Gamecock stars coach Jim Carlen and running back Harold Green - who was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1970.

Also being inducted are Charleston native and three-time basketball Olympic medalist Katrina McClain, Furman running back Stanford Jennings and Brian Ruff, a Citadel linebacker.

Donnie Walsh, a former South Carolina assistant basketball coach who became an NBA executive, also will be inducted.
