Political opponents are blasting President Bush over new disclosures in the CIA leak investigation.
Documents filed in court contain allegations by Vice President Cheney's former chief-of-staff that the president approved a leak of classified prewar intelligence on Iraq.
Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer says he's certain "this goes way beyond Scooter Libby." He wants Bush and Cheney to explain.
The White House says there will be no comment. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said the president has the "inherent authority to decide who should have classified information."
There is no indication in the filing that either Bush or Cheney authorized Libby to unveil CIA agent Valerie Plame. But a conversation in which Plame's name was used came after Bush approved the disclosure of "certain information."
