(Columbia-AP) February 6, 2006 - South Carolina's top federal prosecutor says he has forwarded an inmate's request to drop all his appeals and be executed to the US Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
US Attorney Johnny Gasser says the court should have a copy of the letter since 28-year-old Chadrick Fulks' appeal is currently before it. In his letter, Fulks also offers to help authorities locate the bodies of two women he and 23-year-old Brandon Basham were convicted of killing.
Fulks and Basham received the death penalty for the 2002 kidnapping and murder of Alice Donovan. The body of the 44-year-old Galivants Ferry woman has never been found.
Fulks and Basham were also sentenced to life in prison in the disappearance of 19-year-old West Virginia college student Samantha Burns.
Gasser says his office will go along with whatever the Fourth Circuit decides.
