Body parts cache leads to arrest of NC couple

(Selma, NC-AP) February 6, 2006 - Decomposing body parts have been found near a Johnston County, North Carolina, farm, and the husband and wife who live in the farmhouse are in custody.

Robert Bruce Pollard is charged with first-degree murder and his wife, Cecilia Louise Pollard, is charged with being an accessory to murder.

Bobby Pollard is also charged with possessing marijuana and a weapon of mass destruction, described as a sawed-off shotgun. He's held without bond and Cecelia Pollard is being held on a half-million dollars bond.

Sheriff Steve Bizzell says investigators were looking for a man named Caesar Ruvalcava Ortiz after receiving a tip last Friday that someone had been killed on the farm property in August 1997.

Deputies searched the property last Saturday and found plastic bags of decomposing body parts. A local medical examiner says the remains might be of two people.

Investigators suspect that at least some of the remains are those of Ruvalcava.
