Two charged with castrating N.C. man

(Walnut Cove, NC-AP) Authorities have charged two people with castrating a man who got into a fight with another man who was supposed to give him a tattoo.

Stokes County Sheriff Mike Joyce says Gary Thomas Johnson and Jennifer Arlene Robbins were being held under 75-thousand dollars bond each. They were charged with malicious castration; assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury; kidnapping; and maiming of body parts.

Joyce identified the victim as Tony Wayne Wagoner of Pine Hall. He was in stable condition at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem after the attack, during which his ears also were cut off.

Wagoner was attacked after a fight broke out a couple of hours after he arrived at a house where he was supposed to get a tattoo. The sheriff says the suspects put a bandage around Wagoner's head afterward, put him in his car and told him to leave.

Wagoner drove to a home and asked the residents to call police.
