WIS News 10 - Columbia, South Carolina | Seven soldiers killed in Iraq since Thursday

(Baghdad, Iraq-AP) April 30, 2005 - It's been a deadly few days for US troops in Iraq. Seven of them have been killed there since Thursday.
As of Friday, at least 1,581 members of the US military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003.
In western Iraq, a soldier was killed Saturday by gunfire. Friday, two soldiers were killed by a homemade bomb in western Baghdad. And four soldiers were killed Thursday when their convoy was attacked near the Syrian border.
