(Anderson-AP) March 29, 2005 - The bankruptcy trustee in the Carolina Investors case says he should have a little more money to return to investors.
Ralph McCullough said yesterday he has distributed $56 million of the settlement so far. He says about $47 million have gone to investors. About $9 million has gone to the attorneys in the case.
The Pickens company went under two years ago, with more than 8000 investors losing $278 million.
McCullough says he still has about $8 million that will be combined with about $1 million from the sale of mortgage pools and money obtained through two dozen lawsuits. He says the next payment to investors could come in the next couple of months.
