(Columbia-AP) March 17, 2004 - A bill that would legalize tattooing will get another chance in the House.
The House Medical, Municipal and Military Affairs committee approved the bill Tuesday. It will return to the House floor for more debate. Last month, lawmakers voted to send the bill back to committee.
The bill prevents minors or those under the influence of drugs and alcohol from getting a tattoo. It also requires training and regulations for tattooists.
The bill has already been approved by the Senate.
South Carolina and Oklahoma are the only states that ban tattooing.
