NORTH CAROLINA (WECT) – Carolina residents will see a little more relief at the pump as Walmart roll backs their prices.

According to Walmart's website, customers will see a savings of 10 cents a gallon on all fuel, gas and diesel at participating Murphy USA and Walmart gas stations for the next 90 days.

The discount applies to gas purchases made when using a reloadable Walmart gift card, reloadable Walmart MoneyCard or Walmart credit card from June 29-September 30, 2011.

North Carolina is one of 18 states participating.  The lower priced gas can be purchased at both Walmart locations in Wilmington and at the store in Leland.  Some Walmart locations in South Carolina are also participating.

AAA Carolinas is predicting that fewer Americans will travel this 4th of July Holiday weekend because gas prices average a dollar more per gallon than last year.

"As with the Memorial Day holiday, the rising cost of fuel is having a more significant impact on those with lower household discretionary spends and has shifted the demographics of the typical Independence Day traveler," said Brent Hubele, vice president, AAA Travel.

According to AAA, the national average price of unleaded regular gasoline is $3.57 a gallon, 8 cents less than last week.
