ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) – Orangeburg County deputies have arrested two men who they say assaulted and robbed two people in an Orangeburg house on Sunday.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said Sean Echols, 28, and Richard Sprinkle, 40, broke into a house on Myers Road Sunday evening and robbed the two men inside. Ravenell said Echols and Sprinkle stole wallets from James Wright and Robert Rump, as well as a car belonging to one of the victims.

Echols and Sprinkle were armed with a gun and a knife, according to Ravenell, and hit Wright on the head with the pistol and cut Rump on the chest, feet and arm with the knife. Ravenell said Wright suffered multiple deep cuts on his head and face.

Deputies arrested Echols Tuesday evening on an Orangeburg street without incident. Sprinkle was arrested near his house, also without incident.

Ravenell said Echols and Sprinkle, who also goes by the name Richard Mavins, face two counts of attempted murder and armed robbery.
