FAIRFIELD COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Winnsboro teen was shot and killed Saturday night. Fairfield County sheriff's deputies said he was an innocent bystander.

He was just weeks away from graduating high school. Now his mom will be planning his funeral instead of his graduation.

Monday will be tough for students at Fairfield Central High School. The class of 2011 just lost one of their promising graduates. Rodrickous Wood was gunned down at a party.

The loss is even greater for his mother who was excited about the 18-year-old graduating in June. "He was my baby," said Cheryl Robertson-Weldon, "And I don't know why someone would want to hurt him."

The Fairfield County Sheriff's Department said Wood was minding his own business Saturday night when he was shot and killed outside a party at "All-in-One" in Winnsboro.

Investigators arrested Stacy Hunter and Kenneth Washington for the shooting. Chief Deputy Keith Lewis said the two were a part of a petty argument that spilled over into the parking lot. "This is just something simple as making a comment about somebody's girlfriend on Facebook," he said.

Lewis said Hunter pulled out a gun and shot toward the crowd. Washington drove the getaway car. The bullet hit Wood in the chest. He was standing nearby. "He was at the wrong place at the wrong time," said Robertson-Weldon.

She said Wood was a nice, funny guy. He was ready to graduate, enlist in the Navy, and then attend college.

Robertson-Weldon said it's not the first son she's lost to violence. Funeral arrangements have not been made yet.

The suspects are also teens. They were been charged with murder.
