GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Pawleys Island woman was killed on U.S. 17 Thursday night while assisting her daughter with a flat tire.

According to Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson, 46-year-old Rosa Johnson of Parkersville Rd. went to meet up with her daughter who had a flat tire near the DeBordieu Colony around 7:00 p.m.  A second car pulled over to also assist with the tire and shortly after a third vehicle plowed into the cars as well as hit Johnson.

Johnson was taken to the Georgetown hospital where she later died from internal injuries.

It is still unclear if charges will be pressed against the driver.
