USC traffic, paperless ticketing may lead to confusion at Miley Cyrus concert

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -The USC-Clemson game kicks off at noon Saturday, but this year there will be an added competition for those driving into Columbia.

Apart from game day traffic, it's going to be Miley Cyrus mania as the teen pop star takes the stage at the Colonial Life Arena at 7:00pm.

Troopers say the two events being seven hours apart will help with traffic.

But there's another big thing that might cause some confusion at the concert. For the first time, tickets at the Colonial Life Arena will be paperless.

Instead of a paper ticket, you bring the credit card you bought your ticket with. The usher scans your card and gives you a receipt.

If you're confused about the process, don't worry -- staff will be there to help.

"Sure, things will be a little slower entering the building, that's why we're opening earlier," said arena general manager Tom Paquette. "Instead of one hour before, we're opening two hours before to make sure things run smoothly."

There will be a "resolution" window set up for those who have questions.

One question Paquette has already encountered is what if your card is in your spouses name? That's no problem, he says, as long as you have a photo ID.

As for parking, Paquette says they will be pre-selling passes available for pick-up at noon on Saturday.
