WAYCROSS, Ga. (AP) - Police say five men were arrested and officers seized more than 140 high-potency marijuana plants in a raid on a south Georgia house.
Ware County, Ga. Sheriff Randy Royal says the growers diverted electricity from power lines and used it to grow the plants in a 3,600-square-foot house.
Authorities say the five men are charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, trafficking in marijuana and theft of power.
They are identified as 26-year-old Chrisnel Montenegro Gonzalez, 33-year-old Alxarez Lazo and 49-year-old Feilipe DeJesus Novoa, all of Jacksonville, Fla., 26-year-old Yoenky Morffi Diaz of Millwood and 33-year-old Arairis Martinez, listed as an owner of the house.
The five were being held in the Ware County jail pending a bail hearing.
