GREENVILLE, SC (AP) - A federal report says the pilot of a small plane that crashed near a South Carolina airport told air traffic controllers he was low on fuel.
The three people on board were hurt when the plane came down near the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in Greer on Nov. 9.
Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board contains new details about the crash.
Two avionics technicians who work for Stevens Aviation were on the plane with the pilot and had reported the aircraft had 400 pounds of fuel when it took off. It came down 19 minutes later.
The pilot, Mado MacDonald of Virginia Beach, VA, was in good condition at Greenville Memorial Hospital. The technicians have been released.
The plane was in Greer for maintenance.
