Teen carjacker shot

MACON, Ga. (AP) - Macon police officers shot and killed a teenager Saturday after he tried to run over the officers with a stolen sport utility vehicle.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says the man was 18-year-old Bradley Gastin.

Macon police spokesman Sgt. Zac Self. says the incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. near a nursing home.

Earlier, he says two young men carjacked a maroon 2000 Ford Expedition. The carjackers took the man who had been driving the Expedition to a nearby corner put him out of the vehicle.

Police later followed the SUV, shooting the driver after he tried to run over officers and rammed a police car.
