COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia's police chief, Tandy Carter, on Monday announced that the Columbia Police Department will be teaming up with AARP and Francis Burns United Methodist Church (located at 5616 Farrow Road) on November 10th and 11th to offer a two day driver safety program.
The is designed as a refresher course for drivers 50 years of age and older, and will involve two classroom settings four hours long.
Francis Burns United Methodist Church is providing the space for the event.
In a written news release, Chief Carter stated, "At times we all could use some type of refresher and this program is specifically designed for mature motorists who feel they may need to improve their driving skills."
The AARP Driver Safety Program is designed to update driving knowledge, learn defensive driving skills to reduce traffic violations, crashes and other key driver related skills.
