DUFORD, SC (WMBF) - Fire crews worked Monday morning to save a 150-year-old home in Duford, SC. The home, however, was a total loss.
Fire crews from Horry County Fire-Rescue and Loris were called to the home around 3:30am. The home was located between Highway 430 and Highway 19 near Nichols.
Firefighters said the family and pets were able to escape without injury; however, the home was destroyed by the fire.
Horry County Fire Rescue investigator Bill Martin says the blaze was sparked by an electrical shortage in the kitchen.
