Terry Gene Mooney (Source: LSCD)ST. ANDREWS, SC (WIS) - Three elderly men were arrested at a Lexington County boat landing Thursday and charged with public indecency for engaging in sex acts in front of undercover deputies.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said the arrests were the result of an undercover investigation in response to citizens' complaints about inappropriate activity at the Saluda Hydro Project boat landing on Radio Lane in the St. Andrews community.
Metts said the three men inappropriately touched undercover officers' bodies, exposed their privates and performed sexual acts on themselves.
Deputies arrested Richard Paul Carrier, 63, Richard Dustin Emerick, 67, both of Gilbert, and Terry Gene Mooney, 71, of Columbia. All three are charged with public indecency.
Deputies arrested Mooney at 10:30am Thursday after Mooney exposed a private part of his body to an undercover officer and then performed a sexual act on himself in the officer's presence.
Deputies arrested Emerick at 11:50am after Emerick exposed a private part of his body to an undercover officer and told the officer that he could perform a sexual act on Emerick, Metts said.
Deputies arrested Carrier at 4:00pm after Carrier inappropriately touched an undercover officer's body, Metts said.
Carrier was being held Thursday at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, Metts said. Emerick and Mooney were released at 4:50pm Thursday on $1,092 bond.
