WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - One man has been arrested while another is still sought in connection with a West Columbia home invasion according to police.
West Columbia officials say 31-year-old McKenzie Clarence Boykin was apprehended on Oct. 26 and charged with first degree burglary, assault and battery with intent to kill, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during commission of a violent crime, and kidnapping.
Meanwhile, police are still looking for 18-year-old Dennis James McCloud, Jr.
Authorities say the two men entered a home on D Avenue around 7pm on Oct. 22, pistol-whipped the victim inside the home and attempted to rob him. However, officials say the suspects fled the scene when the victim's roommate heard the disturbance and interrupted the robbery.
Boykin is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center under a $160,000 bond.
