Columbia fire crews say it may have started at the Brixx Pizza.
The restaurant is on the first floor and has an oven vent that runs up to the roof.
A majority of the damage is in and around that vent.
Deputy Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says there were fire sprinklers in the building, and without them the damage would have been much worse.
Damage is estimated to be at least $200,000. No injuries were reported.
