CLARENDON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A man is dead after officials say he was hit by a car while crossing a Clarendon County road.
The Highway Patrol says the wreck happened at around 2:15am Sunday on Highway 527 near Epps Road.
The highway patrol says 39-year-old Cheryl Moore of Georgetown was driving east when 74-year-old Herman Wilson of New Zion crossed the road in front of her.
Moore hit Wilson, who died at the scene of multiple trauma. Moore was wearing a seatbelt, and wasn't injured.
The Highway Patrol is looking for someone who may have been a witness to this accident. They believe a man driving a black Volkswagen Jetta pulled up on the accident and talked with the woman involved. They do not believe the man was involved in the accident.
They are asking that person to call the Highway Patrol dispatch at 896-9621 or *HP from a cell phone.
