
Tracy CobbCOLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - An escaped inmate has been apprehended.
Investigators with the S.C. Department of Corrections and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division took Tracy Cobb into custody along state Hwy. 5, between York and Cherokee counties, at about 10:15pm Wednesday night.
After receiving information that Cobb was traveling in an automobile along the highway, authorities with both agencies located the vehicle and forced it to pull over.
Cobb surrendered without incident and was transferred to the maximum security Broad River Correctional Institution in Columbia.
A minimum security inmate, Cobb walked away from his job assignment on the Corrections' farm at Wateree River Correctional Institution on May 6.
Cobb faces a charge of felony escape, punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
