First Alert Forecast: It won't feel like fall at all this weekend!

Fall is here!  However, as we move through your weekend, it won't feel like it.

Average high temperatures are in the mid 80s this time of the year. But on Saturday, we'll see high temperatures in the low 90s. By Sunday, highs will be in the upper 80s, courtesy of northeast winds between 5 and 10 mph. Regardless, it will be a dry weekend with a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday and mostly sunny skies on Sunday.

The sunny, dry weather will continue into next week. In fact, we'll see mostly sunny skies on Monday with highs in the upper 80s. A few more clouds may build in Tuesday with highs around 90.  More 90s are in the forecast next Wednesday and Thursday.

We're also keeping an eye on Hurricane Maria. The storm remains a powerful hurricane in the tropical Atlantic Ocean. Right now, most of the major tropical forecast models continue to keep Maria offshore and east of the U.S. through the weekend and even next week.  However, we still can't let our guard down. At this point, be careful at the beach this weekend through next week. Swells from Maria will cause high surf and a high threat of rip currents.  If there are changes in the forecast, we'll let you know.

Tonight: A Few Clouds. Isolated Showers/Storms (20%). Patchy Fog Possible Late. Low temperatures in the upper 60s. Winds: SE 5 mph.

Saturday: Mostly Sunny. A Warm Day. Highs in the lower 90s. Winds: E/NE 5-10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly Sunny. Warm. Highs in the upper 80s. Winds: NE 5-10 mph.

Tropics:

Hurricane Maria is a major hurricane as it moves over the tropical Atlantic Ocean.  At 11 p.m. Friday, the storm had sustained winds at 125 mph. The storm was headed to the north-northwest at 9 mph. No important changes in intensity are expected on Saturday, but gradual weakening should begin on Sunday.

Lee is a tropical storm again as it spins in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with no threat to land.  At 11 p.m. Friday, the storm had sustained winds at 40 mph. The storm was moving north at 7 mph. Steady strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Lee could be near hurricane strength by the end of the weekend.
