The selection of the final four comes six months after current university President Harris Pastides announced he’s stepping down in 2019.

Pastides has been the president of the university for the last decade, and in a heartfelt Twitter message announcing his decision, he said: "There is little doubt that the greatest rewards came from the students."

During his tenure as president, Pastides has seen an increase in student population and taken home national championship wins in baseball (2010 and 2011) and women’s basketball (2017).
