COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - With facilities across the Southeastern Conference improving seemingly by the day, South Carolina has made some strides of their own recently.
One of the latest is the Gamecocks’ indoor track and field complex. The facility has been remodeled and will be the site of this weekend’s Gamecock Inaugural.
The Gamecock Inaugural is the first of three events South Carolina will host in the remodeled building and South Carolina head coach Curtis Frye can’t wait to see what his athletes can do at home this weekend.
“There’s none better,” Frye said of the new facility. “They’re equal, but they’re not better. I don’t even think there’s any facility in the state of South Carolina that can say none better in the world. It might be a better building -- the shell to go around it -- but you can’t make one better than the IAAF limits you to have.”
The Gamecock Inaugural is a two-day event and will being on Friday at 10 a.m.
