Home of Columbia Fireflies is now Segra Park

Fireflies ballpark renamed

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The home of the Columbia Fireflies has a new name.

Columbia’s minor league baseball team will now play at Segra Park. The new moniker was announced on Monday. The change comes after Spirit Communications and Lumos Network rebranded to become Segra.

“We are excited to play such a big role in the launch of the Segra brand,” said Fireflies team President John Katz. “It is an exciting opportunity to participate in their brand launch just like they helped us do in 2016. We are excited for the new opportunities this brings to both organizations, and will continue to deliver first-class, affordable family entertainment with Fireflies baseball and other events here at Segra Park.”

The facility was named 2016 Ballpark of the Year by Ballpark Digest and hosted the 2017 South Atlantic League All-Star Game.

Officials said the park will get new signage in the coming months.

The Fireflies will open play at Segra Park on April 4, 2019, against the Charleston Riverdogs.
