Driver killed in single-vehicle collision in Orangeburg County

1 killed, 3 hurt in crash

ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - A single-vehicle collision on Interstate 26 has resulted in the death of an Orangeburg County resident.

According to SC Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling westbound on I-26 when the driver lost control, left the road and struck some trees.

The vehicle overturned causing the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, to be eject from the vehicle.

The driver was transported from the scene to Regional Medical Center where they died.

The three passengers in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
