COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - With Maik Kotsar leading the way, South Carolina defeated No. 14 Mississippi State 87-82 in overtime at Colonial Life Arena giving the Gamecocks their third straight win.
Kotsar was the Gamecocks’ top performer against the Bulldogs with a career-high 25 points and nine rebounds. The senior was pivotal in the extra period for Carolina scoring six of the team’s 12 overtime points.
Hassani Gravett scored 17 points for Carolina while collecting seven rebounds. Chris Silva also played a crucial role in Tuesday’s victory giving the Gamecocks 11 points and 12 rebounds.
In all, there were five Gamecocks who scored in double figures against the Bulldogs.
South Carolina moves to 7-7 on the season with a 2-0 record in SEC play. The Gamecocks will host Missouri on Saturday at 1 p.m.
