Clemson fans ‘keep the party rolling’ after national championship win

CLEMSON, SC (WIS) - Clemson fans were out in full force Tuesday afternoon, visiting local team shops near campus to splurge on the newest national championship gear.

“Our boys did it, and they did it big time!” Christopher Brooks, a freshman said. “It’s amazing, it’s amazing…it’s a dream to be able to be here…oh man. When all of this is going on…I’ve been a fan for life, I haven’t missed a game since I was two weeks old. So I’m just born and bred and this is the ultimate dream.

Monday night, thousands of fans gathered in downtown Clemson to watch the game on a large, outdoor screen. Many of those students, freshmen, and they’re enjoying the view from the top.

“Just being here with all the students was insane and seeing the seniors with their final game winning the national championship was just…there’s no feeling like it. There’s no way to describe it,” Meredith Huggins, a student, said.

The team will return from California Tuesday evening, likely welcomed home by thousands of fans. On Saturday, the team will take part in a celebratory parade through downtown, beginning at 9 a.m.

“I transferred here, yesterday was my first day here as a Clemson student,” Taylor Armstrong said. ”Talk about excitement…I’ve never been to a big football school before!”

Clemson finished the season 15-0 after defeating Alabama 44-16 Monday night in the National Championship game.
