COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - It was a disappointing day for USC fans as the Gamecocks took a 28 to 0 loss to Virginia.
“I’m a Gamecocks fan for life, was really hoping for a win today,” Leigh Chavis, a Gamecocks fan said. “I was quite disappointed but it’s not going to change the love I have for my Gamecocks.”
Many fans who were watching the game at Wild Wing Café in the Vista left around the third quarter.
“It’s been tough,” Justin Cooper, an employee at Wild Wing Café said. “Right now it’s heartbreaking, you know, as a Gamecock fan.”
Cooper said he hopes to see improvements next season.
“Our offense needs to change,” Cooper said.
Hours later the Clemson Tigers took on Notre Dame, and with a shifting mood, many fans predicted a win.
“It’s been a really great season,” Ray Hill, a Clemson fan said. “When you win every game you just I mean there’s nothing to be mad about.”
Regarding Clemson’s recent player suspensions due to failed drug tests, fans said they were disappointed, but have faith in backup players.
“Dabos literally for like three or four games has played everyone on the team so that is a lot of experience,” Hill said.
With a Clemson win Saturday night, fans are hopeful for the success to continue into next week and next year.
“Next year I think they’ll be even better. Because the offense is young. Our quarterback is one of the best for a freshman,” Hill said.
