COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A 25-point performance by Ty Jerome was more than enough to help No. 5 Virginia defeat South Carolina at Colonial Life Arena on Wednesday night.

The Cavaliers led from start to finish as they shot 44 percent from the field. Kyle Guy also helped Virginia pick up the win with 18 points while Mamadi Diakite added 10 points and five rebounds.

Chris Silva was the top scorer for Carolina with 11 points and six rebounds. Hassani Gravett provided the Gamecocks with 10 points. USC shot 36 percent from the field and 17 percent from behind the 3-point arc.

South Carolina has now dropped five of their last seven. They’ll host Clemson on December 22 at Colonial Life Arena at 2 p.m.
