Columbia police chief discusses bomb threats in Columbia, nationwide

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - After both agencies respond to bomb threats on Thursday, multiple law enforcement agencies investigated a series of unsubstantiated threats across the Midlands.

Here’s a list of the threats and the corresponding law enforcement agencies:

Columbia Police

  • 1612 Marion Street
  • 1705 Taylor Street
  • 1530 Richland Street
  • 2001 Assembly Street
  • 1812 Lincoln St.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department

  • 2100 block of Two Notch Road
  • Kitti Wake Drive off Highway 1

Richland County Sheriff’s Department

  • 600 block of Rosewood Drive 
  • 900 block of Brookwood Drive

Law enforcement agencies across the county have been responding to a number of bomb threats across the country. Threats, including in Georgetown County and York County have been investigated and scenes involved in those threats were cleared.
