TALK OF THE TOWN: Free concert for you from Fort Jackson

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - As a special Christmas present to you, the Fort Jackson 282nd Army Band will perform a free concert to the community called Home for the Holidays. The Army Band’s woodwind quintet came to WIS TV to give a preview to the upcoming performance.

Members of the 282nd woodwind quintet are SGT Monique Jordan, SPC Erica Rhodes, SGT Martin Van Klompenberg, SGT Andrew Tryon, and SSG Patrick Hanudel. The concert Friday will actually feature the entire 282nd Army Band. It’s December 14 at the Koger Center for the Arts in downtown Columbia. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and goes till about 8:30 p.m. There will be two acts: Remembering Home and Bringing Home to You.

Remembering Home includes Joy Fanfare, There's no Place Like Home for the Holidays, Christmas Festival, Sleigh Ride, I'll be Home for Christmas, The Christmas Song and Greensleeves make up the first act. Bringing Home to You will include Holiday Essentials (medley), Merry Christmas, Here's to Many More, O Holy Night; Holiday Sing a Long, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Encore (Jingle Bells)
