ST. MATTHEWS, SC (WIS) - Suspects involved in the armed robbery at BB&T in St. Matthews have been arrested, according to The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and St. Matthews Police Department.
The incident happened on Dec. 4 when three armed males entered the BB&T branch on F.R. Huff Drive and demanded money from the tellers.
The males then fled the scene in a dark blue sedan, getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash. “These arrests can be attributed to good, old fashioned dedicated police work” Sheriff Summers said.
Joshua Justin Zeigler, 28, Harold Leroy Butler, Jr., 22, and Marquil Deshawn Ball, 26, all from Columbia were arrested.
“I am extremely pleased that all of these dangerous individuals are off the streets and in custody," Summers said. “I would also like to thank everyone involved in the investigation and apprehension of these men.”
All suspects are charged with Armed Robbery, entering a bank with the intent to steal, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, kidnapping and criminal conspiracy. All three were taken into custody by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force.
Also assisting in the investigation was the Columbia Police Department, the Midlands Gang Task Force and the F.B.I. All three suspects have now been booked into the Orangeburg County Detention Center.
