COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - South Carolina is one of the leading states with people with high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
On Wednesday, 458 clinics from across the state were recognized for addressing these issues, and more. The American Heart Association hosted a Chrysalis Workshop series focused on blood pressure and management.
Reports show one in three South Carolinians have high blood pressure and 42 percent of adults have high cholesterol. Efforts are currently being made to provide more resources to help treat blood pressure and cholesterol control rates.
Eating better and exercising can also help maintain those high blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
